Ben and Ethan to perform October 4 in Boston to aid GK Hosted by Boston University’s Filipino Students Association (BUFSA), Kanta at Kalinga is a night dedicated to raising money and awareness for Gawad Kalinga (GK), a charitable organization whose goal is to cultivate self-sustaining communities in impoverished nations. With a diverse array of both first-time and well-known performers, Kanta at Kalinga aims to entertain and inspire audience members by exposing them to the talents of young artists, all who support GK and what it stands for. It is also BUFSA’s goal to spread awareness about the GK organization to the BU community. This year, Kanta at Kalinga will feature several performances from young Filipino-American artists including: singer/songwriters Danny Katz and Alfa Garcia; along with up and coming rapper, Ryan “Hydroponikz” Abugan and comedian, Kevin Nadal, who was voted one of People Magazine’s Hottest Bachelors of 2006. Also in store for audience members are Ethan Mentzer and Ben Romans from one of the most popular pop bands in the Philippines, The Click Five. A major portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Gawad Kalinga organization. Translated into English, Gawad Kalinga means, “to give care.” GK’s main goal is to battle the blatant problem of poverty in the Philippines and all over the world. GK is now in the process of transforming poverty stricken areas in the Philippines, with the goal of building 700,000 homes in 7,000 villages in 7 years. Kanta at Kalinga will take place on Saturday, October 4th at 7pm at the Tsai Performance Center at 685 Commonwealth Ave. Tickets will be sold the week of September 29th at the GSU Link (775 Commonwealth Ave, Boston, MA) for $10. For more information or if you would like to put tickets on reserve please contact bufsa@bu.edu. -------
Aww. They're donating money to GK :] It's cool that STC has a community there or something. :)) Now I'm inspired to do community service in GK. Who knows? I might touch the things that were bought using the money they donated ;)

I just want the old YOU back. I don't want you treating me like crap. Talk to me again. Communication is KEY. Your popularity is getting in your head. AND WTF. YOU ARE NOT WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE. Please don't compare yourself to him because YOU are different. YOU ARE NOT TOM PETTY. And, have I told you that I want the old you back? The old you made me like you. And now the new you's making me feel more distant than ever. You seem like a stranger. I just miss the days when you give me automatic updates without me demanding for it. It's good that I have THEM. Sad truth is, they couldn't take your place. You've changed my life so much.
The 'me' here isn't just for myself. WTF. GET OVER YOURSELF.
Only a few would understand why I said this.
AND WTF. TRUE FANS?! TRUE FANS WOULDN'T CARE IF THEIR FAVORITE BAND TREATED THEM LIKE CRAP?! EVEN IF ONE OF THE GUYS TOLD ONE OF HIS CLOSE FRIENDS THAT TOM PETTY DOESN'T EVEN HAVE TO MINGLE/INTERACT/TALK TO HIS FANS SO WHY WOULD HE? :| 'TRUE FANS' huh? UGH. THIS IS JUST INEXCUSABLE.

O_O Are you serious?
Paul Digiovanni waved at us. Weee. :">
LMAO. You could totally hear us screaming back there. So embarrassing. XD Actually, we weren't supposed to go to Boys Like Girls. We gave in to peer pressure. D: Yesterday we arrived at Trinoma at about 7:30 and I think the show ended at 8. I was looking for my fellow boardie friends but I can't see them. I just saw Issa when the concert ended, so yeah. She texted me that she was in the concierge and so I went there and I saw her with Andrea. :D They had blue tickets, lucky them (Blue tickets, like on the click concert in Trinoma, are for sponsors/Ayala/something. They get front row seats). I was wishing that I could get a blue ticket just to get in. I'm happy that way. :) I looked for blue tickets on the floor and I saw none. :( But then I saw, at the concierge table, a crumpled blue paper, the same color as what Issa and Andy had. I got it and opened it. MHM. YOU'RE RIGHT. IT WAS HEAVEN SENT. BLUE TICKETS. FRONT ROW. FOR SPONSORS. 3 TICKETS. STAPLED ALL TOGETHER. EXACTLY FOR US. AND AT THE BACK, OUR NAMES WRITTEN ON IT. Lol. Of course not the last sentence. XD How lucky can we get? ;)
We got in. HA. Right, too bad I got it after the concert. :/ But I still consider myself lucky. :D I met Dana, Dara, Andy and Janella inside. :D Really nice people. The concert was over and the boys were backstage and so we went to this barricade thing and waited for them to come out once more, for the meet and greet and picture taking. I took pictures. Lol. Eventhough they're with Random people. I suddenly remembered the name Paul and I told my acquaintances (aka people I'm with, not boardie friends), that we should call Paul, whoever he is. But I'm guessing he's the good looking one in the left most part, wearing black. They were taking a picture when I signaled that we should call Paul on 3, 2, 1--"PAUL!!!" and he looked at us, smiled and started waving his hand just low enough for us to see because they were taking a group picture. :"> GAHH. The next one was when we were trying to get Paul's attention so that I could record a video of it. Yep, he waved his hand and smiled at us again. :"> And I caught it on video. Do watch the video above, thank you. :D
Third one was when I wasn't around. I talked to Andy, Dana and Dara. Jan wasn't around anymore. :( I missed the other one when he waved and greeted Martin a happy birthday.
Fourth one was when they're about to leave. My acquaintances and I called Paul's name again when they were about to leave for backstage and he looked our way again, smiled (this time, a bigger one) and then waved (a big wave with two hands) and Martin did so too. After that, we went on the stage to get stuff that they left. I got 2 water bottles, one was empty and squeezed during the concert, and the other one was opened. I got a bottle cap. XD and Lia got the bottle cap of my squeezed water bottle. Lol. I also got 4 handwritten set lists. 1 for each member. My sister got a water bottle and another one of my friends got a water bottle (LMAO. We did our tradition with every water bottle we get, we sniff it. This one is the worst. Ugh. It smelled unpleasant. Srsly.)
So I had to bring lots of stuff, good thing I brought along my bag with me, just in case I get a lot of stuff. Lol. I was really hopeful that we get stuff that's why I brought that bag along with me. My mantra worked. Lol. It never fails. The night before the concert, I keep saying that we're gonna get stuff from BLG eventhough we don't get to watch the whole concert, it's okay. True enough, we did get stuff and we didn't get to watch the whole concert.
We waited for the guys to come out backstage. We were lucky enough to be on time to get down there that we were REALLY close to them that if we jump and try to reach for them, we will. But of course we didn't, we wouldn't want to freak them out. XD We were shouting "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARTIN" but he's so deaf because there are a lot of people screaming. :| So he didn't hear us. And then I called out Paul. AGAIN. and he looked our way, smiled and waved. AGAIN :"> :x Honestly, we attempted to get his attention 8 times. But only 5 succeeded. He probably remembers us. 'Cause we're practically the only ones calling out his name everytime we get the chance.
Then the other members came out. John and Martin and Bryan came out. John handed a drumstick to this girl and I was struggling to get my hands on it. Unfortunately, that girl got it. Until I realized that the girl who got it, WAS MY SISTER. Pretty cool, huh? :> So yeah. We have Paul's Cousin's drumstick. John Keefe's drumstick. It looks like it's been chewed. XD It has dents on it. Lots of dents. Lucky girl. :)
We saw Theresians there. Overall, we had fun last night. I didn't get a chance to blog about this last night because, well, I was overly excited and I was sleepy so I can't pour all my thoughts in.
AND I just knew yesterday that Paul was actually the guy I liked when I watched the music video of "The Great Escape". The lead guitarist. But then I thought it was just a camera trick that he's cute in that video and maybe not on the others or in person. So I ignored it. Until yesterday. Lesson: Once you see a "cute" guy in a band, look for him on the net. XD
PS: There were these American girls who asked us if the drumstick that my sister's holding is their drumstick and we said yes and they asked us: "May we touch it?" and we said "sure" and then after that they were like. "Whoa." and then we said bye to them because we have to find Ate Neng.
